BISMARCKS
INGREDIENTS
for the Bismarcks:
- 500 g flour
- 20 g yeast
- 100 g melted vegan butter
- 1 heaping tablespoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- replacement for 2 eggs ( I use „MyEy Volley“ )
- replacement for 1 yolk ( I use „MyEy Eygelb“ )
- 250 ml room warm soy milk
to fry:
- 500 – 1000 g coconut fat ( I use Ceres )
for filling:
- apricot jam
for decoration:
- powdered sugar
PREPARATION
step 1
- mix 3-4 tablespoons of the milk with 1 teaspoon sugar and the yeast
- dredge it with a little flour
- let it rise
step 2
- sieve the flour into a bowl
- mix all other ingredient into it
- knead it to a supple dough
step 3
- let it rest on a warm place for 1 hour
step 4
- roll out dough to a thickness of 2,5 cm
- cut out the bismarcks with a glass
step 5
- let them rest under a dishcloth for 10 minutes
step 6
- melt the coconut fat in a pot
- fry the bismarcks … when the underside is golden brown … turn the bismarks around
TIP: dont fry to much bismarcks at once and CAUTION: they get to fast too dark
step 7
- let them cool down a little
- fill them with the jam by using a pastry bag
step 8
- let them cool down totally
- sprinkle them with the powered sugar
CAUTION: when the bismarcks are still warm, the powered sugar will melt and soften up the bismarcks
